'Empty Space' is a coming of age dramedy about, Tom, an overweight young man who takes refuge at his grandmother's cabin in rural Protection, IL, in an attempt to bury the years of being bullied and feeling rejected. While in town, he meets a precocious blind girl named Lilly, who shows him how to be accepted and loved.

Her father died of cancer when she was young and she never had her goodbyes. The two decide to go out and spend time together, enjoying life. Sofus relapses on what seems to be the peak of their happiness together and Sarah shuts Sofus out of her life afraid of losing him like she lost her dad.
Sofus comfort in dying is now replaced with a fear of missing out on the life that he never knew he missed. Sofus realizes than in order to regain comfort in his remaining days, he has to understand the life and youth he has never experiensced and have Sarah forgive her dead farther in order to start a new life.

An essay on electoral fraud

This fraud took place in the local elections of Lisbon, Portugal, in 2001 and helped Durao Barroso to lead the new government, months before his promotion to Brussels. That person had written a book, but nobody understood it. He needed a ghost-writer. But, suddenly, when the author was supposed to meet his ghost-writer he was found dead. The ghost-writer becomes the author. And step by step the new author enters into another world, 'bumping' into the black side of democracy. This movie is about his thoughts, about other cases in the west countries and about how fragile democracy can be.
